Curious Agenda

Explaining Curiosity through Illustration

Hi everyone! One of my favourite projects recently was working with Curious Agenda to create an explainer video for their new website. The project was all about celebrating curiosity. Curious Agenda CIC help people thrive by increasing their creativity, innovation, wellbeing, and problem-solving skills through the power of curiosity.

The Challenge

Curious Agenda needed a video that would not only explain their mission but also engage and inspire viewers and attract potential clients. They wanted to highlight the importance of curiosity in everyday life, our relationship, work life and dreams.

The Process

Miia Forbes, Director of Imagination for Curious Agenda (what a job title!), conducted extensive research and compiled her own document breaking down the science and psychology around having a curious mindset. I suggested that to really bring these concepts to life, real-world applications and scenarios would be great to include in the animation. This included examples of discoveries and inventions by notable figures through history. I then worked through Miia’s research and highlighted the key parts that would work best in animating the key concepts and anecdotes. I had a blast creating this animated explainer. One of my favourite parts was drawing the story of how the Polaroid camera came to be. It reminded me to always embrace the ‘but why?’ questions from kids.

The Outcome

I was really happy with how the explainer video turned out and it is now a central piece on Curious Agenda’s website. It’s a fantastic tool for engaging their audience and spreading their message about the power of curiosity. You can watch the video on the Curious Agenda website.
